Favorites from the DCnU: Swamp thing
If you read Animal Man you must read Swamp Thing. I’ve been a Swamp Thing fan for a LONG time. But this year was fantastic for Alec Holland.

Here’s what I read on my bus ride today, which ended up being about ten hours.
Other than a few other single issues, this is all I brought with me…I was hoping it would be enough for the trip back, too. Oops. Just couldn’t stop reading…except for when I HAD to stop and take a nap a few times…because I get motion sickness when I read in vehicles.
Essex County was so good…and emotional. Suppose I should have paid attention when Dan said it was a quick read. So is there anything Jeff Lemire has touched that isn’t made of fucking gold?
Delayed Replays was great…had to force myself not to laugh out loud a lot…didn’t want to anger the quiet bus people. And then when I realized I was almost at the end, I tried to read reeeaaalllyyyy slowly because I wanted it to keep going.
So far I’ve been really liking Action Comics and Swamp Thing. Although Action Comics tends to be a bit hard to follow for me, sometimes. Maybe it has something to do with this pretty much being my first introduction to Superman and the other characters, or maybe I’m not paying close enough attention? And between Swamp Thing and Animal Man, I’m just kinda…getting sick of hearing about “the (insert color or whatever here)”. Everything is about The Green or The Red or The Rot. I think I’m just tired of the word “the”?
I’ve got the next two issues of Justice League Dark with me and I want to read those before forming an opinion…
And my opinion on my old Simpsons sheets from when I was a kid is that I wish they fit on my and Dan’s normal bed.
